Course objective and content
The course will provide the students with enhanced B737NG technical knowledge for an extended time period of 12 months and a comprehensive overview and preparation for an assessment in a Jet Simulator (in this case the B737NG).

Training material
The training material includes TR prep package and JOC work book.

The Multi Crew Cooperation course (MCC) gives the students realistic training in operating a multi-pilot, multi-engine airplane under IFR conditions. The objectives of the course are optimum decision making, communication, diversion of tasks and use of checklists, mutual supervision, teamwork and support, throughout all phases of flight under normal, abnormal and emergency conditions.

The training emphasises the development of non-technical skills applicable to working in a multi-crew environment. The MCC course can be delivered as a stand alone course, or integrated into Type Rating Training.

Luftfartsskolen arranges Multi Crew Cooperation courses based on Ryanair Standard Operating Procedures in cooperation with CAE / Oxford Aviation Academy at Stockholm Arlanda. The MCC course has been developed in close collaboration with Ryanair instructors.

The MCC course is divided into a theoretical and a practical section. The objective is to connect the two, through a well-defined flying program, where CRM theory will be demonstrated through the simulator manoeuvres. The MCC course will be focused on improving students communicational skills and teach them how to recognize the various traps hidden in human interaction when working through the selected CRM/MCC topics.

The MCC course at Luftfartsskolen and CAE is the perfect step in your flight training, you will both learn MCC and CRM along with Ryanair SOP in a full flight jet simulator. The course will enhance your chances when performing a simulator check.

Training objectives
The training objective consists of optimising decision-making, communication, use of checklists, co-operation, mutual surveillance and support through the different phases of flight through normal, abnormal, and emergency situations. The training puts emphasis on the development of non-technical skills when working in a multi crew environment.

Training content

Web-based technical training. Day 1-3: Classroom Lessons (1 day prep.subject + 2 days CRM) the theoretical parts are closely integrated with the syllabus content of the simulator sessions.
Day 4: Self Study + Pilot Open Day.
Day 5 - 9: Group 1 - 20 hours (5 sessions) of practical simulator training (B737).
Day 10 - 14: Group 2 - 20 hours (5 sessions) of practical simulator training (B737).

The course meets Part-FCL requirements.

Accommodation and travel during your stay at CAE in Stockholm
Typical rates for accommodation per night in the Arlanda area are Euro 50-120. Sharing a double room with your crew partner will of course dramatically lower the cost. Type rating skills protection plan

Initial refresher revalidation training
CAE will provide the Full Flight Simulator time free of charge, and the student will pay for the instructor when performing the initial refresher training. Performing the refresher 11 months after the skill test will extend the validity of the type rating to 24 months from the date of the initial type rating skill test.

Free simulator time
Airlines are provided with simulator time that is free of charge for the assessment of the CAE self sponsored candidates (certain conditions apply).

Prerequisites and specifications
Before commencing a type rating course, the applicant shall have:

  • 200 hrs including 100 hours PIC for modular trainees or 70 hours as PIC for integrated candidates
  • A valid ICAO/PART-FCL: CPL(A) with ME IR
  • MCC certificate and theoretical knowledge equal to the requirements for the issuance of an ATPL(A)
  • Have an acceptable level of knowledge of the English language (equivalent to ICAO level 4).

The length and contents of the course is determined according to prior flight experience.

The training requires an even number of pilots/students (complete crews) to be performed. Two co-pilots are accepted as a crew, except for the skill test, where a Captain is needed. Any cost involved for a CAA inspector is additional.

CAE instructors are included in the type rating prices. Jeppesen Plates will be used. Training documentation is included. During the course CAE will supply each student with Manuals, AOM, QRH, These shall be returned to CAE after the skill test before the aircraft training.
